Font Colours not working when set in Typography settings

Hi Support

I’ve spent the past few hours trying to get my head around the font options and manager and trying to configure them to my site.

I am trying to use colour #818181 for my body font, however adding that as the colour in the typography options only changes the icon colour not the body text. The only way to set the body text to that colour is to go into the inspector change it myself. Is there a solution to this?

URL is - www.rjdesigns.website

Thanks

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! Are you trying to apply the colors to this sections?

The body text color is working just fine. The problem is that you were trying to apply the color to a text element. Please keep in mind that the text element has it’s own color settings. At the moment, it is using the default text color. Please edit your page back in Cornerstone and click each text element and make sure that the color is #818181.

If you need anything else we can help you with, please let us know.

Hi Ruenel

Yes the area you have highlighted is correct.

Oh okay, so the body text doesn’t refer to text within a text element then? What does the body text actually mean?

Also is that the same for the headings option in typography? That is doesn’t change the text within the headline element?

Also one more question. I have the sizing as 1em (default 16px correct?) for my text elements yet some are showing as a different size. You can see it live on the site, but I have also attached an image as well to help.

Thanks

Hello There,

The body text that you have set in the theme options will be applied globally. This would apply to pages built with the default WP editor. Since you created the page with Cornerstone, there is a tendency that the text color can be overridden by the text color of the color which is the v2 text element. If you want all the global settings will take place, please do not use v2 elements. You will need to use Classic elements so that all colors will be coming from the global theme option settings.

To remove the v2 elements from Cornerstone to avoid confusion, please go to X > Cornerstone and select the “Content Builder Elements” options.

Hope this helps.

So the global options apply to classic text and headline objects?

Also any thoughts on why the sizes of the two text passages are different even though they are both set at 1em?

Hey There,

1.) So the global options apply to classic text and headline objects?

  • Yes. With v2 elements, they have their own default settings and you can set the font and any other attribute individually.

2.) This happens because the row container is set to have a font size of 2em and it affects the fonts of the child elements. To better understand em vs px, please check this out:

Hoe this helps.

Hi

  1. Ah okay thanks

  2. I completely overlooked that. I thought because the section had a font size of 1em so would the row. Thanks for the link, i’ve spent the past few hour researching and seeing what would be best to use

Thanks for your answers
