Font Awesome issue with SSL version of site

Hi,

I have a new Pro site that is having issues with the built in Font Awesome 5 fonts

on the http version the icons are showing correctly, while the https:// version shows empty boxes instead of icons

details in the secure areas

Hello @scotbaston,

Thanks for writing in!

Having https while most of your images and theme resources were loaded in http will result to a mixed contents issue or CORS (Cross Origin Resource Sharing) issue. If you will used https, you must convert all resources to use https. To do that, please do the following:

  • Please go to Settings > General and make sure that both the Site URL and WordPress address URL is using https
  • Please install “Better Search and Replace” plugin for you to search for any http: image resource and replace it with https

Hope this explains it briefly.

Thanks for that,

I have tried your suggestion and it didn’t work.

Below is what whynopadlock shows

Don’t worry I found the cause
it was a plugin for custom icons
I have deactivated that plugin and all is working again

Glad you were able to figure it out
