Fixed background image for masthead

Hi!

I have set a fixed background image to masthead. However, the image is scrolling along on mobile devices (iPhone, iPad etc.). How do I make it fixed for mobile devices?

Thanks for writing in!

Parallax is disabled in mobile devices due to performance reasons. It would require custom development to achieve what you need. We do have an in-house custom development team that offer paid services, who may be able to assist. They can be contacted at [email protected] if this is of interest to you.

Hi!

Thank you for the reply. I don’t want parallax, only fixed background for mobile devices. When I use default background image option from customizer, it works. But when I add background image using CSS, it scrolls.

I also found this thread, but looks like file locations have changed - https://theme.co/apex/forums/topic/parallax-on-mobile-ipad/

Is there any simple way to do this?

Thanks for the update.
Fixed-backgrounds have huge repaint cost and decimate scrolling performance, which is, I believe, why it was disabled.

Please check this post for clarification and possible fix.
