Featured image on archive / category pages?

Is there a way to set a featured image for my archive (category) pages?

For example, here is a archive / category page:

When I share this URL through a text message on my iPhone, it automatically pulls the latest post’s featured image as the thumbnail snippet:

…I would instead like it to display an image of my choice. I looked under Posts > Categories but it doesn’t look like you can set a featured image for categories?

You can try this third party plugin to be able to set title, description and image for sharing

I’m already using Yoast on my site, I don’t see an option for featured image Categories. If it’s not possible with WP out of the box, or X, I guess I won’t worry about it.

In a mobile world, seems strange that this wouldn’t be a core feature. Bad UX.

You can add the seo details from your Edit Category Page.
