Hello,
I am attempting to add a featured image to my new post, but for some reason when I preview the post, it shows up as a green box.
Is there a solution for this?
Thank you.

Hello @user-89464,
Thanks for asking.
Green box instead of featured image is quite unusual. Would you mind sharing website URL for us to take a closer look?
Thanks.
Hi, the image is not live on the website, but I have included our URL here for you to see how they are displaying without the featured image.

Upon further research last night, I determined that none of the media files that I have saved are showing in my library either.
I do not have any plugins installed.
Hi There,
Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? Please provide following information:
Set it as Secure Note
Thanks!
Hi There,
Upon checking, I see that you’re running PHP v5.4.45 on your server. WordPress recommends PHP 5.6.32 or later to avoid any incompatibility issues.
Could you please ask your hosting provider to update it for you and see if that helps.
Thanks!
Hi again,
We just updated to version 7.1, but are still having issues with the broken media files in our library. Every image that is uploaded is displayed as a grey box in the library and does not show when you are attempting to edit/resize.
Is there another issue that could be causing this?
Thanks!
Hello There,
I have investigated your site and it appears that you did not assign a featured image to all your post. Although you uploaded and inserted an image to each of your post, these are just normal images and have not been assigned as your featured image. Hope this explains it briefly.
Yes, I opted to add media to the post because the featured image was not working for me.
I was able to get on the phone with someone at GoDaddy and they resolved my issue for me.
Instead of having a folder for media files to be stored, it was a /test/ folder so none of the media was populating.
Thank you.
Hey There,
Is your issue resolved already? Or do you still want to display the featured image in this page: https://collidevillage.com/blog/
The only way to display the image in the blog index and archive pages is to set a feature image which is why as of this moment no images is displaying even if you added image in each of your post.
Hope this helps.
Correct. I resolved the issue with GoDaddy support.
I know how to set a featured image, the issue was that the images weren’t saving in wordpress which was creating broken media files - which is why they weren’t displaying.
Thanks for letting us know!
