I must be doing something wrong. I like to set the Featured Image so that it shows up in the widget at the bottom of the home page highlighting my last three posts. When I do, it also shows the featured image at the top of the Post which is what is wanted:
However, I just noticed to my dismay, when the Post is automatically emailed to subscribers it deletes the Featured image from the Email (see attached screenshot).

Featured is not added in email by default.
You can try this third party plugin.
