Hello,
I was wondering if there is a way to exclude certain parts/assets when exporting or importing a .tco file. Currently there isn’t, if I didn’t miss something.
It may be a handy feature to be able to exclude e.g. local fonts, global colors, images and used components (etc.) when exporting or importing a .tco file. In the case of fonts and color it’s probably the easiest way to replace those with some generic values like “inherit” for fonts and some pickable color(s). In case of components it’s probably harder and I have no idea how that could be done.
As for images it’s nice that these are included when exporting/importing .tco files, but if an image of the same name already exists at the destination the “new” ones are just added to the library with a “-1” at the filename. Maybe a dialog like “Do you want to replace the file(s) with the same name or add a new one?”… and then going through every asset step by step… or replace/skip all
The reason why I’m asking is, that I exported a collection of sections of a page and imported it into the a new website of the same company and when the template was imported the global colors and fonts from the template have been added to the already existing ones and I had to delete these manually (and reassign at the page builder). And for the components being used on that page it created another component-“page” where I had to uncheck “Export Component” for each component and had to replace the components used on the imported page with the already existing components. Well, “replacing” is the wrong word. I had to add the already existing components and delete the “new” ones by hand. Something like a “Select component” dropdown options (like e.g. at the navigation elements for choosing the menu you want to use) could be nice to easily replace/switch components. I think something like that already existed when there been global blocks been introduced.
At the moment it’s a lot of manual work that could be made easier if such option to exclude/include parts would exist and a quick way of replacing/switching components.
Just an idea
Best regards
Mirco
