Feature Request: advanced history interface

a more advanced historic undo/redo and specific history reference would be really nice to have.

as much as I don’t prefer the builder, Elementor does a really great job with their history interface. you can jump to specific states in the timeline, which is very nice. another feature that I’ve found valuable is that the undo/redo items stick with the post, so it’s still there when you reopen the page in the future.

+1!

Built-in version control for pages, templates and individual components would take it even further.

If you press “CTRL+ALT+H” you can get a more in-depth history view. It’s a bit unpolished, but is this what you are looking to see?

Nice, didn’t know that existed.

A panel like that is really nice. I’d add detailed timestamps along with the username + profile pic of the user who made the change, and a dedicated button in the UI somewhere to open this detailed history panel. With the upcoming AI features it’s going to be nice to see detailed logs of everything the AI’s change on a page as well.

It seems like the panel shows the history of all current open Cornerstone tabs? I tested it on one page and the panel shows entries from a different document as well. Shouldn’t the panel show just the activity from the document you’re viewing? A page specific history panel would better, and you could have a separate global site activity log? It would also be nice if it kept historical changes indefinitely because now it’s only limited to the current session?
