I’ve updated the favicon using the theme and I can’t find where the old one was updated checked the theme functions and head in both pro and the child theme.
the uploaded favicons are .icos made specifically for the needs of the format. I’ve looked everywhere 1) I cant find the old favicon file or code.

I have checked and your site icon works.
You have been experiencing some caching issues because you have installed W3 Total Cache. Please clear your plugin cache before testing your site. This can cause the changes to not take place on the front end. It will eventually show up when the cache regenerates, but it’s not ideal if you’re looking to see your changes immediately. Caching plugins are best to turn on only when you’ve finished building the site.

hello the caching plugin is new and this issue predates the plugin. alas if it were so simple 
i have attached a copy of what it should look like I am not sure how the current one is there as I mentioned before.

I confirm that icon is not changing. Please try to deactivate one by one then check your Icon if it is changing already. This could be a script cache or a plugin that causing the old icon to show.

I checked your site’s source code and I can see the icon is being added twice.
Can you try activating your parent theme if that resolves the issue. This is to check if something in your child theme is causing the issue.

Thank you for the information. I did check the case and could not find what is the problem cause. One thing I am sure which is that it is a heavy cache problem. Because even if I changed the theme to something else it still has that icon!
Please contact your hosting service provider and ask them to clear the cache from their side.

hello I have found the conflict with a previously installed theme Amedeus, this is what happened i loaded amedeus main theme upddated the favicon and walla it changes but I then removed the favicon from the theme because I want to use the pro tools not another themes tools and this removed the favicon altogether. looking at the source code the pro code is loading the favicon but it still being overwritten. I have deleted the main amedeus theme but this has not fixed the problem.

Have you resolved the issue? Or this seems to be a cache, if you still see the old icon on your end please clear your browser’s cache or use incognito/private more of your browser.

so for others it was a conflict from another theme that I had on my site it seems to be working fine now.
