Fatal Error, can't login until functions.php is disabled

Site was broken, updated WP, PHP to 8.0 (also tried downgrading), and X from 4.xx to version 10.4.12. Site remains broken and can’t login to WP backend until “functions.php” is removed. Also running a child theme.

Thanks for reaching out.
It seems that the problem is with the PHP version and the version of Theme. I would suggest you delete the older version of the theme through the FTP/CPanel and then upload the updated theme by downloading it from your Themeco Account. While updating please follow the below steps.

1. Delete the existing Cornerstone from plugin list.
2. Upload the updated X theme.
3. After the X theme is updated, use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone. It will be on the latest version

I would also suggest you please copy your live site to a staging server and do the above operation and if everything goes fine in your staging, please migrate the staging server to live and try to activate the license once again.
