Fatal error after updating Cornerstone - URGENT

hi support,

could you please assist me urgently

i got a fatal error after updated corner stone and wondering if you could help me please:

Fatal error: Cannot declare class Menu_Item_Custom_Fields_Map, because the name is already in use in /srv/users/xxx/xxx/xxx/public/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/includes/menu-item-custom-fields/menu-item-custom-fields-map.php on line 19

I’m having the same crisis…just tried to update Cornerstone and I can’t access anything anymore. Rather urgent as I need it up by tomorrow.

**I’m new to website building/code, so if you could explain the directions as simple as possible that would be super-great.

**ALSO: I’m using SiteGround which has a default php 7.0, so it can’t be that my php version’s outdated.

Hi support,

i have uninstalled cornerstone via ftp so that i can go back to my site again. The error code is there on my previous post. Could you please let me know if it is safe to reinstall cornerstone please support

I had a similar issue. I removed cornerstone plugin via FTP, then reuploaded an older version of cornerstone and updated via the wordpress plugin updater.

Hi @brm5017, where exactly did you find an older version of Cornerstone? It looks like I need to do the same. And I’ve never worked with FTP for my website…is there another way to remove the plugin?

maybe you can remove it via your hosting control panel? Sometimes hosts have that ability if you used their application installer to install wordpress.

I found it in the original themeforest x theme download - it’s inside the framework folder.

If you don’t have your old version, I think the new themeforest download has the updated version you need with the fix implemented.

This is very helpful @brm5017 thank you. I went to the X Theme download and located the cornerstone zip file in the framework folder.

However, would it be fine if I just delete the existing Cornerstone plugin from the Wordpress Plugin list in the dashboard? Seems to be the easiest way but I’m not sure if it’s the right way.

@misterlevius

If you can still go to your dashboard then it’s ok to delete the plugin from there, I can’t in mine so i have to do it via ftp

Fantastic it’s all working now – you all are lifesavers, thanks! I hope they format their Cornerstone plugin properly soon, too many people in recent threads have had similar issues.

Hello Guys,

Thanks for posting in!

Please be advised that we have release X 5.2.2 and Cornerstone 2.1.2. It is now available in automatic updates. You can now update to this latest version. This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Please let us know how it goes.
