Fatal error after 5.0.7 update

Can you please help urgently?

Please find the error message below.
I have managed to open the page once, so currently it is available form cache. Still cannot edit the page in builder:

I deactivated plugins one by one, but without any result. The same page on 5.0.6 works fine and opens in builder.

Thanks for writing to us.

It seems that is an issue with PHP memory. I would suggest you Increase Php Memory Limit. Please make sure your PHP version is 7.4 as per our version compatibility page. Please note it is also recommended by WordPress as well. Please have a look at this article.

I would suggest you troubleshoot with a few of the common issues before we investigate your settings.

  1. Testing For Theme Related Issue
  2. Testing For Plugin Conflict
  3. Theme Update
  4. Child Theme
  5. Css/Js Customization
  6. Increasing Php Memory Limit
  7. Disabling Cache
  8. Disabling Cdn
  9. Permalinks
  10. Version Compatibility

If none of those work, It would be best if you could copying your live website to your staging area. and send your details in a secure note so that we can investigate your setting without breaking your live site. Please provide the following details

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin level username and password
  • FTP Details

Increasing max_execution_time on the server resolved the problem. Something has changed between 5.0.6 and 5.0.7. Please kindly have a closer look. Thanks!

I am still experiencing performance issues and occasional problems loading builders.
Here are some errors I could find in the server logs:

too much stderr received from server “/home/users/php-fpm/globepl/test.globe-traveller.pl/fpm.external”, increase FCGI_SERVER_MAX_STDERR_LINE_LEN (1023) and rebuild or use “\n” to terminate lines, referer: http://test.globe-traveller.pl/cornerstone/content/109

It seems some server setting is the reason behind your issues, I would suggest you contact your Hosting Service provide on this.

Thanks. I am in contact with Hosting Service provider, and they have sent me the error messages. Any suggestions which server settings they should change?

If you do not mind, I tend to disagree… :slight_smile:
The problem started after 5.0.6 -> 5.0.7 update. 5.0.8 did not resolve it. If you read the log I have provided in the secure note, you will see the errors refer to Cornerstone php execution.
I would really appreciate someone had a closer look as this might not only help me get back to work more efficient way but possibly prevent some future performance problems for others.

Hi Marcin,

You are quite correct that a few issues are refer to the Cornerstone file execution but that all are specifying some settings variable that are not related to the theme and we can’t resolve those through the Theme files. That is why those are beyond the scope of our theme support.
As these variables are related to Server Settings and we don’t have any control on those, your Hosting Service provider can only help on this.

@Marcin_Podwojski have you checked the PHP version that you’re running? I had to several sites from 7 as it wasn’t compatible. Might be worth trying out as it fixed the problems for me.

Thanks for expressing your views on it. My colleague Prakash has already mentioned the PHP version that is required for this version of Theme already in his post.

Although this issue is related to some of the Server Settings, I would request to update the PHP version to 7.4 if that is not updated yet and check if that resolves your issue.

Thank you @Gingerfizz_Marketing and @tristup. PHP version is 7.4.8.
The hosting provider has changed some setting and there are no more errors in the log, however the performance is far from being perfect :frowning:
