More details to come… Thank you in advance!
Hi there,
Thanks for writing in.
Please delete the folder /wp-content/themes/x/
through FTP or hosting’s File Manager, then re-install it again in admin.
If the issue persists then you’ll have to manually install the theme through FTP or hosting’s file manager, and that’s by unpacking the x.zip
file and upload the folder /x/
to /wp-content/themes/
.
If it still won’t install correctly then your site could have permission issue in which you’ll have to contact your hosting provider and have them fix it.
Thanks!
I did all that, tried another install and it failed yet again. This occurs with every 3rd or 4th time I purchase a new license and try to install. The X Team always helps me with the re-install. Can you please assist? Here is the error message I get…

Hi There,
I have installed X theme for you. Let us know if you have any other issues.
Thanks!
Thank you so much for your help. I have purchased over 50 X Theme licenses in over 2 years. I like working with the theme, but the most aggravating thing about using it is that installation fails on every 3rd or 4th license I purchase. I follow the exact same steps each time when I install, most times having no problem. But regularly, every 3rd or 4th time, I get the same failure instance and have to have the support team reinstall. Any insights as to why this happens?
Out of curiosity, when I get into the site with the theme you just installed, I see this message regarding X… “You have version 5.2.3 installed. Update to 5.2.4.” Could installing an older version be a problem?
Hi There,
Usually that error is throwing when one of your theme files are corrupted during upload.
Apparently I have installed the earlier version but if there’s a theme specific error, you should get that after updating your theme.
The only cause I can think of would be your internet upload speed.
Thanks!
Hi X Team, it just happened again, more information to come…
I’m sorry you’re having this issue reoccur. Can you advise if you’re installing via FTP or the WordPress theme uploader? X has been installed and updated on thousands of sites and from what we’ve seen there’s no indication that the theme could inherently cause an installation failure. Usually problems like this are related to files going missing (or permissions being modified) during an FTP upload, or that the WordPress installation process fails due to server configuration.
Let us know who you are hosting with, and the process you’re using to install the theme. We’ll advise as much as possible, but regretfully there isn’t a fix on our end we can offer aside from reinstalling the theme.
Hosted with HostGator, using CoffeeCup FTP to install the theme where it should go. Now it is working about 50-50. Very frustrating…
Hi,
In that case, please provide us your FTP login in Secure Note
We need to check if there are some missing files or file permission errors.
Thanks
No worries, I finally got it. Thanks for your willingness to help.
Glad you were able to resolve it
