Extension update

Hey, just wondering about the update and manual extension update.

Are you saying I need to manually update all of the extensions in order for them to work and be up to date?

What if I simply waited for new extension updates one by one as you guys release them over the next year? Will that update them correctly without needing to manually do it?

Thanks!

Hi There,

As we needed to change the plugin folder.

You need to access your site via FTP to WP Content / Plugins / DeleteSnippet extension

Go to Wp Admin > X and Install it again.

Hope it hyelps!

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Thank you

Hey, umm I don’t think you responded to the right post.

I just asked a couple questions reguarding the update, not how to do it.

Thanks!

Hi There,

We’re sorry for the confusion. As long as your theme is validated, automatic update should work as expected. You can see it on the upper left part of the admin.

When you click those part, it will lead you to the plugins and themes available updates. We have to select the plugins we want to update. On the other hand, for manual update, we have to do it via FTP by directly accessing plugins folder.

Hope this helps.

Hi thanks, I just need to know if u release an update for an extension; will it take care of ur new folder path issue if I automatically update that specific plugin upon ur release of it?

Or does each and every extension need to be manually done?

I know they can be manually updated but I’m asking what happens if I wait for an update release and simply automaticity update the plugin through the updates section.

Thanks

Hello There,

Thanks for updating in! Plugin updates will need to be done by you. The automatic updates means that you will receive update notifications and will have to select which plugin to be updated. Automatic updates does not mean that it will update the plugin itself. You will have to select the plugin and hit the update button. This is the WordPress default of doing updates for the theme and plugin. Manual updates on the other hand is by logging in to your ftp and upload the files from there.

Hope this explains briefly.

Hey guys, my 2 questions are about updating your extensions and are very specific. --------Please read again below---------

Hi, there!

To be sure we understand your question: do you refer about extensions 2.0 update, that introduces a folder name change?

If yes, so you need to install the new version on X/Pro on the Overview page, and this new version will be available on Plugins list (do this for each extension you have). When you activate the new version, data is migrated from the old one - and the old one is also deactivated.

After that, you can confirm the new extension is on X/Pro menu, and your data is there. You’re safe to delete the old extension on plugins list.

From this moment on you’ll be warned about extensions’ updates and can normally update them on plugins list.

Thanks!

howdy! hi thanks, yes but I’m just simply curious if the folder path 2.0 issue can be fixed through an automatic update when you release new extension updates.

…Meaning, you release an extension update, I click update, will it fix the folder path issue if that’s the scenario?

thanks!

Hi There,

Sorry for the confusion. As mentioned above, version 2.0 has changed the folder name and re-branded each extension (except Snippet and Woo Checkout Editor). So they need to be installed again on X/Pro -> Overview section manually.

Hope that’s clear.

Thanks, ok ok ok. This doesn’t seem to be getting answered. How about if I just ask this…

2 questions

  1. Would I ONLY need to do this manual update to the plugins that are actively installed to fix this folder path issue? Example…Let’s say I am up to date with your theme and WP, but then I go and activate an extension that I have never used before. Will the newly activated extension have the correct folder path?

  2. I guess the same question stands if I install a new copy of X theme for a brand new site. Will the extensions have the correct folder path then?

That should do it!
Thanks again!

Hi, there!

Thanks for clearing out. So

  1. Yes, you just need to do that for already installed extensions. If you install a new one, the path will be correct.

  2. On a fresh Wordpress install with a fresh X/Pro theme install, when you install extensions all paths will be correct.

Hope it helps!
