Export/Import .csl files

Hi,

I’d like to export cornerstone content from my development site in to my live site. This used to be very straighforward by downloading a .csl file and then importing it in to the live site.

I’ve recently upgraded to the latest versions of X and Cornerstone in my development environment and now I can’t find the option to do this. I only seem to be able to create a .tco template file. Please help. How can I create and download a .csl file to import in to my live site?

Many Thanks.

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! In this new version, there were some big changes in the templates. To be able to import/export a page as a template, you must do the following:
1.) Please edit your page the usual way.
2.) Go to the Layout tab and save the page as a template

3.) And find the newly save template in X > Templates and this is where you can download or import a template.

For more details, please check this out: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/template-manager/20364/1

Hope this helps.

Thanks RueNel. I just spent some time with the new Templates Manager. Looks great ! Unfortunately the target site is still running an older version of X and Cornerstone so it’s not yet compatible with the new .tco template files. This particular client likes to manage their own updates. I’ll advise them to update everything as soon as possible. In the meantime, is there any way to output .csl template files using the latest versions of X and Cornerstone?

@razorpig,

We appreciate that you like the new template manager.

I have tried to import the old .csl template files in the new template manager and it is working well.

I tested it also in my page if it will show properly.

Hope it helps.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks.

Thanks Nico,

The issue is not importing the older .csl files in to the latest version of Cornerstone, but rather I’'m trying to export .csl files from the latest version of Cornerstone so I can import them in to an earlier version. Earlier versions don’t recognize the newer .tco files.

Hey @razorpig,

Regretfully, you would need to update your site in order to utilize the new Template Manager features including the new import/export files. Custom development is required to make the old template manager accept the new .tco files.

Thank you for understanding.
