BUG: “&” is turned into & in all headline elements in the editor. How on earth did nobody see this in testing?? It took me 30 seconds.
Hey @co50,
May I ask how is that a bug? Does it output & in the frontend? I just tested and it’s not. It’s just & in the HTML editor which is correct and good for security. Also, & is just the HTML entity equivalent of &.
And to be clear, WordPress does that.
Thanks.
Is this a joke? 3.2 showed “&” as “&” in the Pro editor. I hope you’re not implying this is OK? It’s not OK.
Anyway, 3.2.1 fixed this, so clearly it was a bug and the devs felt the same. Though they did not disclose it in yesterday’s point release changelog.
Hey @co50,
That’s not a joke. I was just using the latest version because you said in the title “Every Single Pro Release is Buggy”. I thought there’s a new bug in the latest release. And, what I said remains true. Characters are converted to their HTML entity equivalent in the HTML editor and that is OK.
Of course, seeing the HTML entity in the preview and frontend is not OK but you didn’t specify that it’s the preview that is the problem and you’re using Pro 3.2. It’s a standard for us to test the latest version. The bug fix was disclosed in our Changelog also.

Please always ensure to test the latest version in a staging server.
Thanks.
- When I wrote this request, 3.2.1 did not yet exist.
- Every Pro release is buggy, including 3.2.1. Roll on through my history in this forum for a collection of past bugs that still are not fixed.
- I specified that the issue occurs in the editor. Since your editor is a WYSIWYG editor, the editor is the preview.
- The changelog I was referring to was the Confirmed Issues list. You are correct, it does appear in the longer changelog. Cool. Thanks for pointing it out.
Hey @co50,
Thank you for clarifying. I understand the situation
Yes. I must admit that there are always bugs despite our best efforts to find and eliminate them. But, we have improved on the bug fixing area and there were a lot of bugs fixed with the last 2 releases especially with the help of beta testers and also user reports.
I will keep this in mind. It would still be best to give specifics next time though as in the builder, there is an HTML, Rich Text and Inline Editors. Understandably, it would be easy to get confused with the Inline Editor and the Preview as they switch.
You’re welcome.
