Events still disappear from the calander on the day of the event

So I continue to have the problem of events not showing up the day of events, even prior to the events starting these events aren’t populating.

I’ve submitted this problem before & was given this solution:

I’ve verified my settings continue to be “Hide Events - On Event End”

Yet as I had mentioned, these events disappear even before the event starts!

This is super frustrating for me and my audience who are trying to get last minute details and directions and the event is absolutely no where to be found.

Hi @ohiocannabis,

Thank you for writing in, but that is the right settings, Hide Events option to On Event End

If that did not work, please do testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Remember to clear all your caching plugins and features

Cheers!

So I’ve found something really weird and may be the issue with my problem.

I just posted an event for 1:00pm - 3:00pm EST and it is currently 6:11am EST - a full 7 hours before the event starts, however, the events countdown only has 2 hours left

Any idea what is causing this and how to fix it? I’m pretty sure this is the issue I’m having with events disappearing too early.

Ahh I figured it out - apparently my main Wordpress Time Zone wasn’t set properly.

I’ve since added the correct time zone and the count down timer is up to over 6 hours like it should be.

Seems I’m good to go!

As always, thank you for the support!

On another quick note, how do I change or delete the Related Events section that populate at the bottom of Event pages?

It’s showing past events and I don’t want past events to be advertised in this fashion, cluttering up the actual Upcoming Events.

Thank you!

Hi John,

If you are talking about the sidebar section which shows the common occurances you can disable it from Appearance > Widgets section. For more information please kindly read this article:

If you mean another section, I’d appreciate you share with us the exact URL that you are talking about and we will follow up.

Thank you.

So go to this event and scroll to the bottom to see the “Related Events” - these are all past events, is there any way to set it so that it only shows/promotes upcoming events in this feed?

I didn’t really see much in the Related Events section in the dashboard, but I’m still hopeful you guys know a way.

Thank you.

Hi John,

I have check related events and there seems to be no settings to exclude past events. It might be possible to hack the query of related events using the child theme, unfortunately, it is outside the scope of our support.

Hmm ok, I’m not really a programmer so I’ll just disable that feature for now. Maybe it will be added in the future.

Great!
