Ethos theme how to embed featured photo

Hello, I am now using SmugMug to host blog post photos and this works great.
I also need to embed the ‘featured’ photo for each post.
Can you suggest how to do this without using the ‘media library’?

Unfortunately there is no option in the theme where you can use external image source for feature image. But you can certainly use third-party plugins to add external image URL for feature image.
Here is a plugins which helps you on this, but this is not something a official recommendation, you can try several options too.
