Ethos Stack: How do I change the aspect ratio of images - both above the header and in posts

Hi,

  1. can you explain please how to change the aspect ratio in the images above the menu and in the posts.

  2. can you explain please, how to fix the issue of the menu overlapping the slider on the home page

I am messing around with the site now (no professional images yet!) but you can see the issues at cheltenhamcostumes.co.uk:

  • Photos only showing heads due to aspect ratio - I need them to be in a portrait aspect ratio
  • Menu is overlapping the slider. I found where to change the height of the slider but it still doesn’t show the whole photo graph

Thank you.

Hi @BronBat,

Unfortunately, you can not change the images at the top section of the menu. The reason behind that is, the images are added as a background of the top carousel and the top slider.

The background images will be cut depending on the browser window size to fit the image into the constraints of the container.

The top carousel feature of the Ethos stack is not a suitable tool for your usage if the images you want to use are important to be available fully and not be cut.

I suggest that you use the Revolution Slider plugin to add images yourself for the slider. That will not be automatic, but for the homepage, it will help you to choose your own images and link to proper posts.

Thank you.
