Ethos Slider Using Oldest Posts for Rotation

Hi there,

I’m having a problem on my site and I’m not sure how to fix it. I’ve checked the settings on the individual posts and nothing appears to be out of order, but something is clearly wrong. I’m not using Revolution Slider or any other plugins just the standard Ethos blog slider. I’ve got 6 posts currently, but only the oldest 5 (as 5 is what I selected to rotate), rather than the newest 5, rotate. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Many thanks,

Amie

Hi @chicknlil,

Thanks for writing in.

Have you customized it? And please provide your site’s login URL and admin login credentials in a secure note. It’s behind a coming soon page

Thanks!

In terms of have I added custom CSS that affects the slider? Not to my knowledge. Secure note added to first post. Thanks much!

Hi @chicknlil,

It shouldn’t affect the order if it’s just custom CSS. I still can’t check it, it says the password is incorrect. Please provide the correct one.

Thanks!

I just double checked and the password provided is definitely correct. Not sure why you’re having difficulty logging in.

Hey @chicknlil,

Another support staff here and I can’t login also. See https://youtu.be/p-S4h50C5Kw

I verified that password - again - and it was correct. But just so this stops dragging out, I’ve changed it.

Hello @chicknlil,

Thanks for sharing the details.

Upon checking the settings I can see that you have selected Most commented under X > Theme Options > Ethos > Post Slider Blog > Display. Please change that you Random from dropdown options. https://cloudup.com/cebuDRNUWlT

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks.

Changed to random, did a hard refresh of the index page, and it’s still showing the oldest 5.

Hey There,

You have installed a caching plugin WP Fastest Cache, please clear your plugin cache first before testing your site especially after making any site changes. This can cause the changes to not take place on the front end. It will eventually show up when the cache regenerates, but it’s not ideal if you’re looking to see your changes immediately. Caching plugins are best to turn on only when you’ve finished building the site.

Please let us know how it goes.

I should have thought of that. DOH. Thank you though, that did the trick. All set here.

You’re most welcome.
