Ethos Slider Disappearing and The Grid not displaying on Chrome

As of this week (no new updates) the blog featured post at the top of https://elknetwork.com/ will appear for a brief second then disappear when viewing it on Chrome. It will work fine when viewing on all other browsers however.

I have disabled all plugins as well as disabled cloudflare caching, and as it as browser-specific, it does not appear to be an issue with either.

Futhermore, https://elknetwork.com/onthehunt/ and a few other pages have The Grid areas that will also not display on Chrome.

Any help or ideas as to what is going on here since it does not seem to be a plugin conflict or a caching issue?

Thanks for writing in. It seems that you are having a caching issue. Since you are using CloudFlare, please login to your account and purge your site cache. It is best that you make sure that you are using the best recommended CloudFlare settings. I also noticed that you are using The Grid shortcode inside a text element. You should have used The Grid element in Cornerstone.

Thanks for getting back @RueNel,

As mentioned above, i had completely disabled cloudflare when testing to verify that it was not causing the problem. For grins, i went ahead and purged the cache and the problem is still occuring. Only in chrome. I had the page rules setup that Michael suggested when i first implemented cloudflare, but appreciate you mentioning that as well.

As for the Grid, i was using the shortcode versions as the initial upgrade to Pro had a bug that would not display the Grid Element and that was the workaround. I will look into seeing if that remedies at least the Grid problem.

I appreciate your help in trying to remedy this. Any other ideas?

Also, try turning off Cloudflare’s Rocket Loader in the Speed tab.


And can you try deactivating that one signal bell widget for while, as I notice just when the bell appears the post slider/grid disappear simultaneously.

Lastly, purge the entire caching on your CloudFlare to regenerate a new cache with the new settings.

Interesting. I disabled rocket loader, which should have been disabled when i put cloudflare in development mode, and it appears to be working on my end. Would you mind checking it in Chrome as well on your end to see if it works?

Very cool! Hey did the option to enable the post carousel get moved with the upgrade to Pro? I’d like to re-explore using it and it’s not listed underneath “Ethos” in template options anymore.

Hi There,

Post Carousel is part of the Standard Header (X & PRO). If you have a custom header you’ll lose the options with regards to the Standard Header, regretfully including the Post Carousel.
