Ethos Pro Header and Revolution Slider Height

Please see freshambassadors.com

I switched to custom header from the legacy version. When first loading on laptop screen I want the slider to fill the entire vertical space except for the space that is occupied by the header. I would like the header to start below the slider and then stick to top when I scroll down.

I have been unable to achieve this. I tried absolute positioning for the header as well as the stick option. Also since adjusting the settings the first menu option is now appearing as black, the same as the background and so is invisible. It is to the left of the about link.

I’m also wondering what is causing the revolution slider to appear in general? How does word press know to show the slider when there is no widget etc on the home page?

Hello @PatrickPhillips,

Thanks for writing in!

Please edit your slider and change the Layout > Sizing to “Fullscreen” and then in the Decrease Module Height, insert .masthead as the container.

And to know how the slider was integrated into the page, please check this out:

Thank you

Those settings were already in effect. There was one other element in the decrease module height section but changing it to exactly what you recommended had no effect. It also did not show the header or create a sticky header.

I’ve created some credentials so you can check it out.

Hello @patrickphillips,

It turns out that you are using a custom header. I went ahead and updated the container class into #wpadminbar, .x-masthead.

Check your site again. It should be resolved now.

Thank you - this is exactly the behavior I was looking for with the initial positioning of the header. Could you help me determine why the Home link is black always and how to adjust the hover for all of the links so that it just goes to gray and not full black on mouseover? I tried changing the subindicator and that did not seem to do anything. Do you have a link to the wiki on what a subindicator is?

I figured out the sticky issue - I was applying it to the nav rather than the top level bar.

Thank you

Hi @patrickphillips,

Sub Indicator is an indicator on your menu item that has child items (sub-items), usually its a down arrow, it looks like this.

You need to change the Interaction color of your menu.

The base color is the initial color of your menu and the interaction color is the color of the menu when you hover on it and when you are currently on that page, that is why your homepage is always black because you’re viewing the homepage.

Hope it helps,
Cheers!
