By default, the hover in the post carousel will display the author, category and post date. Removing it and replace with the post excerpt can only be done with customization. Please be advised that custom development is beyond the scope of our support. You may need to contact 3rd party developers to do that for you.
Please note that custom coding is outside the scope of our support. Issues that might arise from the use of custom code and further enhancements should be directed to a third party developer.

We would like it to rollover to the date of the event not the date of the posting.

Changing the rollover to the date of the event not the date of the posting will still require custom development. Off course you can do that with the modification of the post carousel display. Again, please be advised that custom development is beyond the scope of our support.
