Essential Grid - YouTube videos blank

I followed all the instructions from ThemePunch for adding a youtube video to a custom grid and it appears blank in the preview and live on the site. I tried The Grid and there’s no issue, the video appears fine. However, there is a section in The Grid plugin to add a YouTube API in global settings, there is no such setting in Essential Grid’s global settings. I was able to add the API in the Stream section of Essential Grid, but not the look I was going for. I would like to do a custom grid but cannot get video to show. I like Essential Grid’s options over The Grid and would like to use it. Any ideas on a fix?

Thanks for writing in.

The grid will only display the thumbnail assigned to the youtube video element. Do you mean it doesn’t display the thumbnails in your grid?

Custom source doesn’t need API for youtube but you’ll have to manually add them at time. Would you mind providing your site’s URL that has this grid? And please provide the instruction’s URL that you followed.

The essential grid I’m trying to accomplish is the third item down. Below the “Chip Off The Old Block” image is 5 thumbnails that are supposed to be YouTube videos. I entered each one with the YouTube IDs like it says on this tutorial page: https://www.themepunch.com/essgrid-doc/working-with-video/

I didn’t think I would choose any image as I want the thumbnail that’s on youtube to show as the image. I will attach a secure note for access. It’s under the Services grid in Essential Grid menu. Thanks!

I believe there is a typo in the username you shared, but this isn’t a problem, I figured it out, however, the account isn’t an admin account, could you please grant admin privileges to this account so we can check theme/plugins settings?

Hello There,

I have logged in and I found out that you inserted the Youtube ID and yet no image was assigned.

You will need to edit your grid and must assign an image for each grid item.

I added an image and it still doesn’t play the video…only shows the image you add. It should add the thumbnail from the youtube video like it says in the documentation and the video tutorial.

Hello There,

I have logged in and switched the skin. I tried other skins and finally switched back to “HowardTaft”. I cleared the cache and it seems that videos are now playable.

Please check your site now.
