Essential Grid Youtube Stream stopped working

hi there,

We’ve just found our Youtube stream for Essential Grid has stopped working. I set it up no problem a few months ago and now it’s not working.

  • Have cleared cache
  • Disabled cache plugin on site
  • We’re not using a CDN
  • Stream count in Essential Grid settings is set to “1000” as I read in another support thread
  • To troubleshoot I remove all restrictions on the API referrer and now we’re getting this error (will post in a private note.

I have a staging site seep also with the same problem, so I can share those credentials in the private note also.

What are the next steps of getting to the bottom of this?

Hey @lifehouseglobal,

When I checked, the grid/stream count is set to 3, and the grid outputs nothing as in blank. I’ve set it to 1000 back then viewed the test page we’ve created and I got a message regarding your Youtube quota (screenshot 1 in secure note).

Then, after setting it back to 3, the grid works fine (screenshot 2) so I believe this is not a problem with the Essential Grid but Youtube’s service.

I also tested your grid in my site and it works so server problem is also not the cause.

Please report this to Youtube support.

Thanks.

hi there,

Thanks for helping getting a solution. I have been able to get it going on the live site now.

Strange that it doesn’t display when set to 1000. But will if 1 or 3. Anyway, it’s working now.

Also regarding the Youtube quota - what is that referring to? Youtube will only allow something displayed a certain amount of times each month?

Hi @lifehouseglobal,

That’s probably either caching related or 1000 value has reach the quota
