Essential grid vertical alignment

I’m trying to get photos in grid aligned correctly but the only option for vertical alignment is top, centre or bottom a couple of my pics could do with nudging up a bit more than centre aligned

Hi There,

Your images are setting as background images(with cover option) on that grid. So I recommend you using the square images instead.

dont really want to square the photos, just need to nudge a couple of the grid images up by a small percentage as when they are clicked i want to show the proper image

Thanks for sharing the screenshot. Please be aware that the grid will only display the images along with its setting. If you truly want to align the images, you will have to edit them one by one using Photoshop or any image editor to have the same height and make sure that the placement of the person’s face or heads will be inline because you cannot do it accurately by just relying on the settings of the grid.

thought there may be a custom css I could add somewhere that would let me nudge them around a bit

Adjusting these images look will be very tricky to do with CSS, I recommend what was mentioned by RueNel above to modify these images with any image editor.

is it possible to link one image to a different image? so if I square them off when clicked it will open the image with the proper aspect ratio?

Yes. You can setup what lightbox content you wish to be shown. See https://www.themepunch.com/essgrid-doc/lightbox-options/#enable-lightbox

Or, you can edit each grid item individually and set the Alternative Image. See the Image Options section in the link I provided or you can quickly see the setup in this screencast.
