Essential Grid Sort Filter

Hello!

I have put together a grid on my website using essential grid and am currently playing around with the sort dropdown menu. I can see I can add some custom dropdowns in using the pricetable lines within each source item. The question is how do I change the wording of pricetable price etc on the dropdown - how can i customise this so that it doesnt show up as pricetable price, pricetable price 1 etc on the dropdown on my website?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,

Thanks for writing in! Regretfully, It could only be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities.

Thanks for understanding. Take care!

Thanks Paul - that’s no problem.
I have another essential grid question…

I have several items in my essential grid (using portfolio items as my source).
I need to link each image to a different page/url.

I have read the themepunch documentation and just CANNOT work it out!! I have created meta for each image however when I go and choose that in the skin editor, I can only select the meta for one post.

Thanks in advance!

Hi There @SecureSpot

Could you please try following this video guide here (https://youtu.be/mkwPrELG7V0?t=788), 13:10 onwards you can see how to link to a custom meta link.

Hope that helps.

Thank you; I’ll give it a go and see if I make any progress - hopefully there’s a step I’m missing that fixes it all up!

Hi @SecureSpot,

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks.

Hi Nico

The youtube clip I had already tried - this works no problem for one of my items. I want to know how I set up a different url for each item. Within the skin under meta I can only select one custom meta so how do I create a for multiple items??

Thanks again
Suzy

Hi Suzy,

You can add it under Essential grid settings when you edit your portfolio item.

See screenshot

Thanks

Thanks Paul - I have done this step. My issue is loading them all onto my website - assuming this is done through the skin editor??

Every item shows all the custom meta handles I have added (one for every item) and so within each item - I have added the url for that item and left the other meta boxes blank.

In the skin…
I have set this up and it is working for that one grid item (statement) but how do I add the other links to the other pages as they are all linking to the same [statement] page.

I hope this clarifies where my issue lies and what I’m trying to do!!

Thanks so much
Suzy

Hi Suzy,

Could you please provide us with your login credentials in a secure note to check your issue.

Basically you should be able to set your unique link, when editing your portfolio items. So each item should link to different external pages as you have set them.

Thanks!

Thank you - I have currently got my links within each portfolio item in the box next to the meta I created for that specific item - is this the right spot?

Hi @SecureSpot,

If that field has name eg-statement-link then it should be correct. Plus there is a drop-down where you can select it. Does it work? Maybe we need to directly check it by logging in.

Thanks!

yes the meta is eg-statement-link
what credentials do you need? a bit wary to give out username and password over a public forum…

Hi,

We need your wordpress admin login.

Please add it in Secure Note

Thanks

HI Paul

Ive just realised; you may not be able to log in as I am using wordpress on a local server through mamp??
I will send the login anyway and see what you can do…

I’m sorry but we can’t troubleshoot a local site. Please upload your site to an online server so we could check.

Thanks.

I would have absolutely no idea how to do that…I’ll just keep on searching for the answers I guess. Thanks anyway

Guess what?! I worked it out! I found a 2 minute video on youtube and used the page functions rather than urls and bam! working! very happy!

Glad you’ve sorted it out.
