Essential Grid shortcode not rendered in Cornerstone editor

Hello there,

Since the latest release, Essential Grid shortcodes entered in the page builder render as en empty 0x0 container, making it hard to see the actual final result.

Before the last version the grid would be rendered right-away as soon as the shortcode was properly entered.

Although not really related, there is also an issue with Ubermenu in the Headers builder. It says the HTML markup is wrong and there’s a missing DIV tag so it doesn’t render properly. It used to work fine before. Our Ubermenu menu is rendered using the “Inline Menu” element.

Waiting for your feedback!

All best,
B

Hello @thisisbbc,

Since in the previous versions, the essential grid will not be loaded inside the page builder to prevent any issues and conflict. You might have used a shortcode inside a text element to circumvent the preview which made it possible to display. The correct way of inserting a grid is by way of using the Essential Grid element. This way, you will have a place holder for the grid while you are in the page builder. In your current situation, we recommend that you use skeleton view mode in the left panel in the Layout tab. Clicking on the column or row will give you the ability to see elements inside the columns or rows just like this:

For your UberMenu, please make sure that you did not inserted a broken html codes in it. Most of the time, any unclosed tags will messed up the layout which may also affect the builder.

Hope this helps.

That’s exactly how I used to add EG grids. I guess I’ll use the classic element instead but it’s a bit of a bummer we can’t see the grid while building the page. Thank you.

For Ubermenu, I don’t think it’s possible for me to insert HTML in the header as it’s configured currently. I just selected the Menu from a drop-down menu “Assign Menu” in the “Navigation Inline” element. The only custom HTML elements we use in Ubermenu are two links and there’s no missing tags.

It’s not a big deal but it’s a bit annoying.

You are most welcome!
