Essential Grid Posts

Hi there!

I’ve chosen a skin to use for Essential Grid, but the look of the actual blog post that accompanies the skin sample is not loading on the blog post page. Specifically, the blog post sample that goes with McKinley shows a form at the bottom as well as related posts. I thought that would be pulled in as part of the skin? Where do I access the form so I can customize it? Right now it’s set up as “Leave a comment” with a message field, but I’d like it to look like it does in the skin demo: https://essential.themepunch.com/company-news/a-day-with-sunshine-bliss/

Also, I have seen that some dashboards have an “Essential Grids Posts” menu, but I have “Essential Grid Post EXAMPLES” menu. Are these essentially the same? Also what is the different between these posts and regular posts? I haven’t been able to identify the differences.

Thank you!

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! All the grid demo skin is using post items. The form is the comments section of the post and the Related Post is using the plugin. Please be aware that the grid skin will only style or only responsible in displaying the grid and its items. The grid skin does not in anyway style or not responsible in displaying each individual grid item post pages. The theme is the one which is responsible of the page. If you selected Fullwidth, Sidebar Left, Content Right or Content left, Sidebar Right in the theme options, X > Theme Options > Layout & Design> Content Layout, then that is also the layout of your grid items post pages.

Hope this make sense.

It does thank you. I was able to figure it out.

If I may ask a related question; I have created a post using the Essential Grids Example Post tool, which is giving me the look that I was going for in my previous question. The problem is that none of the posts make with the Essential Grids Example Post editor are showing on my main blog page. Only posts created with the original WP editor are showing. What am I doing wrong? How do I get them to show up?

Thanks!

Hello There,

It’s good to know that you now have figure it out.

Please understand that the Ess. Grid Example Post is a custom post type and it is private. It will not display in your blog index. The Ess Grid Example Posts Custom Post Type whose normal function is for importing the demos only.

Hope this explains it briefly.

Thank you for explaining that. Can you tell me how I would be able to use these demos as actual live posts?

Hey There,

You have to import the demo grids. You can then use the demo grids in a normal page or post.

Hope this helps.
