Hello! I’ve created a grid to organize all my blog post by categories. However, I just noticed that even though it’s set to show descending in order of date, the posts are out of order. I can’t seem to figure out why. Any help would be appreciated! Here’s an example screenshot of a few posts.
Hi there,
Thanks for writing in! Please follow this guide to fix things https://www.themepunch.com/essgrid-doc/grid-item-display-order/
Hope this helps!
I do have it set correctly, that’s why I’m confused!
Hi There,
Thanks please send your login details in a secure note so that we can check.
Thanks
Ok! I think I included it below. It’s the “Blog” Essential Grid.
Hi kenzi0106,
it’s the masonry layout option that you think is messing up with posts order, please check this screenshot:
When new posts are loaded they just fill the empty space left by masonry layout, hence it appears like the sorting is broken but it’s not:
That’s how masonry layout works at the end, filling in new items in spaces between loaded items.
Thanks.
So it’s based on how items load? It just seems odd to me that there’s even an option to have the posts “ordered”, but it doesn’t actually order them. It still looks pretty grid-like to the eye so it’s confusing! If that’s the case though, I’ll have to decide what’s more important.
Thanks!
Hello There,
The post order works as it is intended to be. The problem is that when you set Masonry, the masonry script will re arrange the order and make sure that there are no empty spaces in the grid thus the post order were messed. I would you use “Even” or “Cobble” if you want to have the post order being followed in the display order of your grid.
Hope this helps.
