Hi,
I have an essential grid skin on top of a mobile video. I have it set to play the embedded video. When I press the play button on mobile it doesn’t automatically play the video. Instead, it reloads the skin and I have to press play again to make the video work.
Can you help me figure this out please?

On my end, play button is working fine and videos are playing automatically. I have recorded a screencast, please take a look.
I suggest you to either try clearing cache or test the website in Incognito mode.

I was specifically referring to the vdieo on the front page, which I had to remove to do any work on the site because whenever I have the grid shortcode on that page, it demolishes my back end interface. It makes things disappear and rearranges my content.

I also just checked on my phone on the home page and the page that you showed in your screen cast, and it still requires pressing play twice. Caches are cleared.
Are you checking on an actual phone or on a screen size tool?

The setup that works currently is if you use the Lightbox. Using the Lightbox is better for user experience also because after you click, the video is fully displayed and automatically plays. See https://youtu.be/jlR4opvhoto

Thank you for checking. The client does not want the lightbox. They want the video to play embedded. Even with lightobx, the user must click “play” again to make the video run.
Do you have any suggestions on how to make the embedded video play correctly or how to fix the errors the shortcode causes in Cornerstone?

As I have tested your page in an actual mobile phone, I could say that this could be a bug or just that the video is buffering which make it back to display the play button instead of waiting and play the video. Christian already reported this to our developers so that they can test for further investigation and be able to communicate with the creators of the plugin for a resolution to this issue.
Could you please create another grid using a different skin and see if other skin will play the video just fine or have the same issue as what you are experiencing now.

I tried another skin and still had the same problems with needing to double click and it wrecking my layout. So, for now, I have removed the video from the home page.
I do need to get this feature working ASAP. Do you have an estimate for when your developers might be able to resolve this issue?

Unfortunately, we don’t have an ETA for a fix related to this issue at the moment, getting in contact with the plugin development team and explaining the problem to them might take sometime till they release a fix for that issue.

Sorry to hear that, unfortunately, Essential Grid is not something we develop so we don’t have direct control on it. All we could do is add this to the issue tracker. But there should be no issues with X theme
