Essential Grid Loading Issue

Hi,

I updated the essential grid the other day and now am having a strange issue. When I went to test my grids, most of them were working:

https://tin100.com (logo and news grids near bottom of the page)
https://tin100.com/tinwire-tech-news-roundup-18-august-20/ (this grid gets used every two weeks; the random ones I’ve clicked into are working)

BUT

The grid on our directory page is having issues.

• When I first checked it on desktop, nothing showed up. Just the title “TINTech Directory” at the top and nothing loaded below it (it was working on mobile)

• I deleted it, and created the section again and it still didn’t work

• Since the mobile section was working, I duplicated it, changed the title and it worked.

• Then I deleted the old section, renamed the new section and moved it above the original mobile section…then it didn’t work anymore

• Then I moved the section back below the original mobile section and it seemed to be working again, but only if it was below the original mobile section

Then today I realised that though it is displaying on my computer (Mac with Safari) the loading icon (the little spinner) is always displaying and not going away even when the grid has loaded. I’ve since had two coworkers check on their devices (Surface Pro with Edge browser, and PC with Firefox) and both also have the spinner.

And just now, I’ve checked on mobile again (iPhone SE and iPhone6 on safari) and it isn’t loading.

What’s the issue and how do I fix it ASAP. Clients pay to be on this directory listing.

Thanks for reaching out.

I can confirm that the spinner will not go away on this page https://tin100.com/tin-tech-directory/ after everything is loaded. Since you have a license code in your Essential Grid and there’s an available update from Essential Grid 3.0.3 to Essential Grid 3.0.5, I updated your Essential Grid plugin to the latest version and when I check the said page again, the issue is gone.

This has not fixed the issue on mobile. The essential grid is still not loading.

Also note that your version compatibility doc only states that Pro is compatible up to Essential Grid 3.0.3

Hi Ashley,

I have logged in and inspected your page. I can see that you have a two section on the page and you are trying to display the grid twice in a text element you have added in each of the sections. I went ahead and edited your page. I removed the [ess_grid alias="member-directory"] from the text elements and I have inserted a 3rd section dedicated for the grid.

Kindly check your page now.

Thank you! That is logical! I’m just so used to duplicating a section to make the necessary adjustments for mobile/desktop, that I didn’t even think that the grid could sit outside of the section. All seems to be working now. Thank you for your help!
