Essential Grid: how to use filters on categories and subcategories

Hello, can someone maybe help me with this.
I want to create 2 different essential grids: one with participants of last year and one with participants of this year and be able to filter each grid on both location and industry.
Some of them participated both this and previous year.

What I did was create portfolio items for each participant and gave them the category: 2019 or 2020 or both. Then I created the location categories (Antwerp, Brussels,…) and industry categories (Agency, E-commerce,…) and gave them to the corresponding participant.

For the first grid I selected in ‘source’: the category 2019 and all the location and industry categories. And then I created 2 filters in which I selected the location or industry categories.
For the second grid I tried the same, but both grids gave the same results. And I can’t seem to figure it out.

Thank you for writing in, on the Filter Logic option please make sure you select the AND, so the posts need to be part of all the selected filters (categories) before it can show, more details on the link below.

Hello, thank you for your reply. But whether I select AND or OR, I still get the same results in the editor preview when I use the filters, I see the OR results. (And I’ve saved and refreshed the preview everytime)

Also when I check on the live page of my grid, I think the filtering does work here but, it doesn’t show all the portfolio items of the categories I selected. eg. When I want to filter on ‘culture’ I only see 2 portfolio items, but I gave 3 of them the category ‘culture’.
