Essential Grid Hide on Mobile

Hey, I’ve found similar questions on this forum, but none have actually fixed my problem.

The skin I’m using has a drop-down title and excerpt for my posts, which I want on desktop display. However, on mobile, the dropdown completely covers the post below and there doesn’t seem to be a way to close it without scrolling passed and clicking another.

Is there a way to hide the dropdown entirely on mobile devices? I’ve tried playing around with the hide/show, but nothing seems to work.

May I know which URL has this issue? I checked your account and there are multiple sites. But maybe due to skins as each has its own setup.

It’s definitely the skin, I’m just looking for a way to edit the skin so the dropdown section (with the title and excerpt) only displays on a full-screen device.

This is the skin I’d like to use, but on mobile the dropdown covers the post below. I’m just looking for a way to disable that aspect of it for mobile view.

Hi @kerridawn,

I now see what you meant. It’s the combination of skin and grid setting, it’s usually due to Grid Settings > Layout > Grid Layout > Even, then with a matching skin to match the Even layout. Unfortunately, it’s something you can’t control for a specific device view.

I recommend having two grids with a different layout (Even for a larger screen, Masonry for a smaller screen). Then just hide each grid from the device where shouldn’t be displayed using the Hide During Breakpoints option (under Customize section) of the text or grid element in cornerstone builder.

That is what I was thinking of doing actually, but wasn’t sure if it would slow down my page.

If one is hidden, would both still load and one would just be invisible? This is beyond my understanding, I’d just like to clarify this before adding too much.

Yes, both will load but one will be hidden based on the breakpoints you set.
