Essential Grid filter deep linking... I can't get it working

Hi there!

I’m currently putting together what is essentially an archive of video content, and am relying on deep linking filter settings within Essential Grid to assist in organising content… however so far I’ve had no success with a deep link.

I’ve followed the extremely complex instructions here, however the result is always the same - nothing. The deep link is completely ignored, and the grid appears in its default “show all” state. The frustrating thing is that I can see the link change in the address bar when clicking on filter options, but manually inputting the exact same link produces the default grid state.

Am I being daft?

Thanks,

Matt.

Hi Matt,

I have just checked in my local setup and the deep linking option is working without any issue.

Would you mind making sure that you are using the latest supported version of Essential Grid which is version 2.3.6 which is supported in X 7.2.3 and Pro 3.2.3.

Also, kindly try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

If the issue persists, please provide us with the admin access to your site in a Secure Note:

Thanks for the reply Jade,

I followed your suggestions and had a wee bit of success - I was able to successfully get deep links working once - on a different browser - but after a refresh it goes back to not working / showing for me. I’ll send you admin details now and I suppose we’ll see if you can recreate the issue!

Cheers,

Matt.

Hi Matt,

I logged into your website and managed to check the Library page and deep linking works with no problem even when I do a reload.

This should be a cache problem. I suggest that you disable the under construction temporarily and test the grid when you are logged in and when you are not.

If there is a difference in behavior then it is a cache issue and you need to clear cache and disable the JetPack plugin and/or any other cache-related plugin that you have and test.

In general, this is not the Essential Grid issue and more of a cache related one. Please also make sure that you check the website after you clear your browser cache.

Thank you.

Hi Christopher,

Thanks for looking into this for me - sadly I think at the end of the day I was trying to be too complicated and it’s just not going to work.

Onwards and upwards… time to learn some more things!

You’re most welcome, Matt.
