Essential grid click - zoom on mobile

Hi X,

Just put together a quick site here - http://mitsugikikuchi.ca/

Near the bottom I have a series of paintings in Essential Grid - when you click on the magnifying glass it opens up well on computers but it doesn’t on mobile or tablet… I’m kinda puzzled as to why that is?

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! Because there is no click event in touch devices, you will have to tap the image first and when the magnifying glass icon appears, you can tap on it and then the image lightbox will display.

Sorry, we cant replicate the issue on our, what version of iPhone/iPad and browser do you have? So we can try to replicate the issue.

Hi Friech - tried all of that and still same problem. Also happening on my brother’s iPhone too - it’s weird because I’m using the same Essential Grid template at www.skatefield.ca and that’s working just fine on mobile - would you mind taking a look? I’ve attached a secure note to the top of the thread. It seems that some images DO show up but are stuck at the top of the screen…

Hi Rad! That is the WEIRDEST thing. I have all the latest iOS + browser installs.

I just found out that because it’s a small temporary site, I’ve put an install at mercurius.ca/kikuchi - Essential Grid works fine there!

However, I have bought a domain - mitsugikikuchi.ca - and pointed that domain to my install under Mercurius, it’s when I access the site this way that the Essential Grid glitch occurs!

Maybe that would help to find a fix?

I checked and I’m able to reproduce the issue in the simulator. But I still can’t find what’s causing this issue as the CSS is the same on desktop and mobile. I’ll continue checking.

Hi there,

It doesn’t work well with iframe. The original URL is http://mercurius.ca/kikuchi which you only masked with http://mitsugikikuchi.ca/, so it’s still http://mercurius.ca/kikuchi . But the lightbox doesn’t behave well with that setup (the iframe). If you intend to use http://mitsugikikuchi.ca/ as it’s final domain, then you should migrate it instead of just masking it.
