Essential Grid As Carousel Slider - Large Empty Space After Last Photo

i’m using the essential grid extension to create a simple slider / carousel at the bottom of some pages, such as this page here: https://tinyurl.com/y8y7eoq3

when you reach the end of the slides, it looks okay at smaller breakpoints, but on desktop (when there’s 4 or 5 columns) it leaves a large empty space:

is there a way to fix this? such as “looping” the slider back to slide 1 at the end?

Hi @COK,

Thanks for reaching out.

I couldn’t replicate what’s on your screenshot, as soon as I reach the end of the items it scrolls back to the first item. I tried it on multiple browsers and on different screen sizes. Would you mind providing more information on how to reproduce this issue?

Thanks!

Are you looking at the page with a browser width that’s wide enough for 5 columns/photos in the carousel? For example, 1400px screen.

Same issue for me in Chrome, FF, Safari, Edge.

Hi again,

I think this is happening due to the number of columns assigned to the desktop screens, try adjusting the columns for the Desktop Medium and see if this resolves the issue.

Please refer to the following link https://www.themepunch.com/essgrid-doc/columns-rows-pagination/

Hope this helps!

I’ve added “6” columns to all desktop sizes and the blank space is gone. This isn’t the number of columns/photos that looks best on small or medium desktop sizes (where I previously had 4/5 columns) but at least the padding is gone I guess?

Seems pretty strange that the plugin dev’s would allow you to enter any amount of columns, yet depending on the number of photos that you add it may add a giant amount of padding at the end. Makes no sense.

Hi,

I checked and can confirm that the extra padding is gone.

I am not sure what the real reason is but we can pass along your concern to the plugin support.

Thanks
