Thanks for your help earlier. I have an essential grid on my home page. I’m running a multisite - essentially clones of the core site. It was all working fine and then a few weeks ago I noticed that it wasn’t displaying on some of the sites. I wrote in and you kindly gave me a quick fix, which worked temporarily but has stopped working (disabling all the options, clearing the cache and reselecting them). When I delete the plug in it displays properly. It’s odd that it works on some sites and not others. It’s got Siteground a bit puzzled. I was wondering if you had any ideas? I’m not tech savvy at all, so I haven’t added any extra code anywhere. Just made a few posts and uploaded a couple of images since things went haywire. I have made the occasional “restore to back up” in C panel as occasionally when I go to save a post in Pro, it takes forever and doesn’t save and returns a ?HTP500 error.

Thanks Thai, this is so frustrating! Yes that’s how it’s meant to look. The images were not displaying for the Site Ground person yesterday. They still aren’t displaying for me today. Despite clearing my cookies, flushing the Sucuri cache, deleting the plug in yesterday then reinstalling it, and unselecting then reselecting the options… I’ll keep trying with Site Ground but if you have any other suggestions I’d be grateful.

I am another staff checking in. The same on my end, I am not seeing the images in your site. This is a caching issue which is caused by SiteGround Optimizer. If you can deactivate the plugin so that you can check the image. I would recommend using other optimizer plugin like WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache or Autoptimize as an alternative with the SitGround plugin.

Thanks Rue! SiteGround have replied: “The issue was caused by the frontend optimization settings of our plugin and particularly - Load Render-blocking JavaScript Files Asynchronously. It seems that this option is not compatible with your theme so I disabled it.” Are you able to flag this as something for your developers to consider when they work on the update? This is the incompatible element " Load Render-blocking JavaScript Files Asynchronously
Add async parameter to the JavaScript files loaded in the header section of your site so they don’t block your page rendering."

The Pro theme and the rest of the other WordPress themes do not defer the javascript by default. It is the choice of the user whether to defer (or async parameter to the JavaScript files) or not. This is also one of the reasons why there are several WordPress plugins that will help you to manage the JS files. Perhaps these plugins could help you:
