Hello, the Essential Grid and Revolution Slider on my website are causing a conflict and producing a 500 internal server error. I have had to disable them but they create my whole home page to a news site.
Hello There,
Thanks for writing in! Your issue seems to be a PHP memory limit exhaustion. We recommend that you increase your memory allocated to PHP. To increase it, please edit your wp-config.php file and insert these lines:
define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M' );
You can add it before the line
/*That's all, stop editing! Happy Blogging. */
We would loved to know if this has work for you. Thank you.
Hello, thank you for your quick reply. Unfortuntately this doesn’t seem to have resolved the issue. I have left it in place for you to see. Thanks.
Hi there,
In that case, please provide your FTP login credentials as well. It’s the only way we could get the details of the error.
Thanks!
Hello here are the credentials
Hey @jameshowsam,
The potential cause of that is incorrect WordPress files and folder permissions. Your files should be set to 644. See http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-fix-file-and-folder-permissions-error-in-wordpress/ for more details.
Your files are currently set to 755 the same as your folders (see Secure Note).
Hope that helps.
Hello there, I have followed the instructions as requested however this has just made things worse. Please see www.skegnesssiren.co.uk/home and also www.skegnesssiren.co.uk
Sorry about that. The file permission change did not cause the error messages to show up in your site. I enabled WP Debug while I was troubleshooting. I turned it off now and the error messages are gone.
Since the file permission change did not help, please try uninstalling Slider Revolution and Essential Grid then reinstall again via X > Addons.
If that still won’t help, we would need your permission to deactivate third party plugins.
Thanks.
Hello, this still hasn’t worked. You have permission to do what you need to do.
Thanks
Hi there,
Would you please enabled options mentioned in this article for the Revolution Slider:
https://www.themepunch.com/faq/troubleshooting-tips-for-5-0/
And if you have the problem persist you will need to deactivate all the plugins except Revolution Slider and the Essential grid and add them to a test page without Cornerstone and using only the WordPress standard editor and the shortcodes of these plugins, to see if it is related to those 2 or something related to the Cornerstone.
Thank you.
Thank you, this didn’t seem to work either. The problem was still occurring when in the wordpress 2015 theme as well.
However I have deactivated all plugins, remove and reinstalled essential grid and rev slider completely, rebuilt all the slides and skins for them both to get them back to how they looked and re-added them to the page. That seems to have done the trick for now.
Not ideal but it worked.
One last topic, now that I have everything back up and running. I have a shortcode for a weather plugin in the header content area that isn’t showing any more. What would be the reason for this? Thanks
Hi,
I would like to check but I am getting an Internal Server Error trying to access your site.
I tried several times but still returns an error.
Hello, it seems the issue may still be on going. The website is up and running now, would you mind kindly checking again.
Hi there,
Yes, it’s a bit slow and there are many active plugins. I’ll continue checking, but I recommend testing it on your end too with less plugins. Just to see what’s causing the performance issue.
Thanks!
