Error page - Parse error:syntax error, unexpected '<'

Hi,

I’ve just updated the theme and then clicked ‘dashboard’ and got the error below. The site seems to work okay. As does the back end. But whenever I click on ‘dashboard’, I get this error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<', expecting end of file in /home/sunnyda3/public_html/got2jot.co.uk/wp-content/themes/x-child/functions.php on line 207

I do have some additional code in the functions file but haven’t changed anything for ages so not sure whats amiss.
Can you help? Its on www.got2jot.co.uk.

Thanks.

Hello @Lorenmn,

Thanks for asking.

I checked the website and as you said the error message is not showing up on website frontend rather displaying on the backend. The error message gives us a hint that it’s a syntax error. As the code is added in child theme function.php file you can first try to remove all the custom code (Php) that’s been added in child theme and see if that resolves the problem (over here we are just trying to narrow down the issue that’s causing). If that solves the issue then you can refer following tutorial and thread for possible solutions:

Thanks.
