Error message Cornerstone

Hi, everyone…
I get this error message when I log in. Something is wrong with Cornerstone. I just installed the latest version of Pro. But the error persists.

Here are more details …

Fatal error : Call to undefined method ReflectionParameter::getType() in /homepages/8/d29504728/htdocs/PYSIOFIT-NEUMARKT/wp-content/themes/pro-3/cornerstone/includes/classes/Plugin.php on line 105

WordPress-Version 5.8
Aktuelles Theme: Pro (Version 4.3.3)
Aktuelles Plugin: (Version )
PHP-Version 5.6.40

How do we get the problem solved?

Hello Marc,

Thanks for writing to us.

It might be the issue of version compatibility issue, please make sure your PHP version is updated as per our version compatibility page that is 7.4 or 7.4+. I would suggest you please contact your hosting provider to update the PHP version as per our version compatibility page since it is also recommended by WordPress as well. Please have a look at this article.

Hope it helps
Thanks

After reading multiple reports of this problem, I keep seeing instructions to review the version compatibility page. Like @marc, I have 5.6.40 installed, which per the version compatibility document you’re referring to is supported.

I completely understand the recommendation to upgrade to 7.4, but I’m currently constrained by a legacy application that is currently running along side Wordpress. We are within weeks of the necessary update to support PHP 7, but we aren’t there yet.

I’m fine if there is an error in the version compatibility document. In that case I’d like instructions on how to downgrade cornerstone to a version that works.

If the version compatibility document is still accurate then I need instructions on how to respond to proceed toward a fix to what appears to be a bug in this latest update.

Right now my site is displaying fine but I cannot login to wp-admin to make any updates without disabling the cornerstone plugin.

Thank you!

Hey @cblair,

This is a known issue and a fix would be released most probably in the next version so Cornerstone and Pro can continue the support for PHP 5.6 and later versions.

This issue started on Cornerstone 5.3.3 and Pro 4.3.3 which are the latest versions. You can try the Previous release and see if it’ll work.

If you haven’t already, I’d recommend that you don’t update your site directly without testing the update in the staging copy of your site. Follow the rest of the Update Guide here.

Hope that helps.
