Error message above top bar

Hello.

This error message showed up today above the top bar on my site:

window.dataLayer = window.dataLayer || []; function gtag(){dataLayer.push(arguments);} gtag(‘js’, new Date()); gtag(‘config’, ‘UA-1111111-1’);

It includes our Google analytics ID (actual code is in secure note). Can you please help us with this?

Thanks for writing in!

In Google Analytics plugin under Meta Tag (optional), please don’t add any additional scripts or code. Kindly delete the code from Meta Tag (optional) box. All that you need to enter is Google analytics ID.

I went ahead and made the change… has this been affecting the collection of data? I mean, will it start working correctly now and it wasn’t before making this change?

Hello Jacko,

It should work correctly now since the Google Analytics plugin that comes bundled with X/Pro only requires the Analytics ID.
