Hi! Every page that I try to edit with Cornerstone! If I have polylang and loco enabled that is. This behavior started just now couple days ago with the latest Cornerstone update.
There is currently a known conflict with Cornerstone and Polylang so the only solution would be to deactivate your translation plugins to use Cornerstone. Please stay tuned for updates.
Once you deactivate your translation plugins, we can continue with the other error (A conflict on the front endâŚ)
Thank you for understanding.
Hi! I canât disable the translation plugins (as they are used on live site at the moment) - but itâs fine to disable them when the maintenance mode is on for the site!
But the thing is, even if I disable the plugins, I still get the original error myself.
Best,
Jarkko
I enabled maintenance mode, disabled Polylang, and opened your home page in Cornerstone. At first, I got the âA conflict on the front endâŚâ message but when I clicked the TRY AGAIN button, it worked and I added an exclamation mark after the Welcome text.
Sometimes, you need click TRY AGAIN button or reload the builder because of connectivity issues.
Thanks.
Hi! I have tried now clicking TRY AGAIN at least 50 times - it has never worked in my end. Iâve tried this method every day for the last week and I get the same âA conflictâŚâ nag every time. The only page I would need to edit at this time is âPromoâ.
Hi there,
Itâs because of your current translation plugin, it doesnât declare the default language of your admin upon load. Unlike, WPML, the first time you load your admin, it will set default language and you can easily confirm that through admin bar. In your case, the language is undefined which is then passed to the builder too.
Plus, you have two translation plugin, whatâs your main translation plugin? Please disable the other one.
Thanks!
Alright, thanks for the clearance! I will take a look at what could be done with Polylang (the main translation plugin). The thing is, it used to work without a hickup until the recent Cornerstone update - I didnât change any settings or tweak Polylang (and I have set the default language to be English from Polylang settings ) in quite some time as it was working like it should.
Now, when I disable Polylang (and/or all my plugins), I still get the same original nag from Cornerstone when trying to edit the âPROMOâ page. All other pages seem to load (with Cornerstone) with plugins disabled except this one. The only difference with this page is that is used no menu but otherwise itâs very simple page with just couple elements in it - thus itâs very strange it is causing trouble. And it used to work all fine before the latest Cornerstone updates.
Itâs very riddling problem indeed. Thanks a lot for your help this far. Much appreciated!
EDIT: it seems that the Cornerstone problem with âPROMOâ page was due corrupted file: I duplicated the page in question and voila, I can edit the duplicate!
Glad youâve found the conflicting element.
