Error installing X update to to 6.4.6

This is the error:
An error occurred while updating X: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions. error_log

I have used X for years now and have always run automatic updates through wordpress admin, this is the first error message received.

Kindly assist.

Error message that you are getting inconsistent file permissions is related with file permissions. I suggest you to take a look at the file permissions and set them accordance with following resources.

Why is this an issue now? The updates have worked in the past with no errors?

I have checked all folder and file permissions which are in line with the guidance provided on the links.

What else should I consider to resolve this error?

Thanks for reaching out.

I recommend contacting your hosting provider. The Wordpress can’t copy and install the files due to host file system issue.
