Error: element could not render due to invalid template markup...bla-bla-bla

Hi,

I see that some PRO users already had this isue but after reading all of these therads and checking my installations I couldn’t find anything which could lead to that. I even made a clean installation, switched off all the plugings but the message persist when I import the header from my live site. Could you please vane a look at my site and tell what is wrong? I will provide access credentials in secure note to this message.

The issu appears when I try edit headers (I experimented with the main header).

Hello @imdyakov,

Thanks for writing in!

This issue is unique to your installation. We tried to replicate the issue in our local testing servers and we are not successful. I would recommend that you re install Pro theme and make sure that all the theme files is uploaded. Some files may have been corrupted. You can get the fresh copy from your dashboard: https://theme.co/apex/dashboard

Please let us know how it goes.

But as I said,

In the second option its brand new installation with fresh PRO downloaded from the dashbaoard. But when I import the header, it is exactly the same story. Shall I re-create all the headers from scratch now if import of my headers leads to the same issue? That’s a huge amount of work.

Hello @imdyakov,

May I have the permission to re install Pro theme in your freshly installed staging site?

Thank you.

Sure, you can.

Hi @imdyakov,

I checked and the builder loads just fine, may I know which page has this issue? The error that I can see is just map related.

The home page of the clean staging is a blog page, which isn’t really editable in the builder (regardless of builder).

Thanks!

If you go to the Header Builder you will see that it is also almost empty as it is a clean installation. But I imported there one header from my existing site which is called Main Header. And if you try to edit it, the Builder returnes exactly the same error. So even if I try to move my site manually to a fresh installation it will take a huge amount of time bacause I can not even import my headers and footers.

Hey Referee,

I find it weird that inputting an ID to the broken element fixes the issue. Please see the screencasts in the secure note.

Can please try setting up a fresh copy of WordPress and Pro and setup a Search Modal to see if the issue persists? Because if it does, it’s highly likely that something in the server is causing the issue. We need to get to the root cause of the issue so we could post this in our issue tracker.

Thanks.

Hi again,

So, I have the following information:

  1. At the live site that trick with Search Modal ID doesn’t work.
  2. At the clean installation if I import my headers from the live site the error appears but can be solved by changing ID for the Search Modal as you suggested.
  3. Finally, at the clean installation if I do not import any headers from my life site and create a new one with a Search Modal the error doesn’t exist.

I replied from another account but it is still me @imdyakov (at the live site I have different account for my client).

Hello @imdyakov,

Thank you for the information. Your search modal may have been corrupted during saving or during the import which is why you encounter the issue. It is best the you remove the search modal in the header and insert a new one instead.

Hope this make sense.

Now I try to export a header template from the live site and then to import it to the clean installation. But what I get is the error that the file is not properly formated.

The export prosedure goes smoothly. No errors are returned during that excercise.

Hello @imdyakov,

Is this header still contains the broken search modal? Please remove the old element or the bar container itself. Insert a new element or a new bar with the search modal in it and save your header. You can then export it and import to the fresh WP installation.

If there are no broken element, it should be imported without any errors.

At the live site replacement of the Search Modal doesn’t bring any result. I’ll try to do it at the staging site.

Thanks for testing. Let us know what you find.

Unfortunetely, similarly to the live site deleting Search Modal in the Header Builder of the staging copy doesn’t bring any result as well. So I can not really move my headers to a new installation. :disappointed_relieved:

Hi There,

I see that you have shortcodes on the Main Header, would you mind doing a testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Let us know how it goes,
