Error {%%{childeren}%%} checkout page after updating to newest version of PRO

I just updated PRO theme to newest version and I always used the pro theme for my checkout page.

I get an error now when checking out. The error says: {%%{childeren}%%}. Please see image below.

This is my pro checkout page in the backend. See image below. I use the shortcode [woocommerce_checkout] to generate the checkout on the page.

When I use a normal wordpress (NOT pro) page it does work. See image below.

How can I fix this problem? Since I always used my Theme X Pro page for my checkout page and I still want to use that page for my checkout page.

Thanks for reaching out.

Please make sure you didn’t edit your checkout page in the builder, and make sure your checkout content in the standard editor is just [woocommerce_checkout]. It’s a well-known issue even on an older version of Pro or cornerstone and we’re still investigating it. In fact, Woocommerce pages shouldn’t be edited that way, Woocommerce customization should applied according to its standard, like a template and hook customization, and not in the builder.

I just worked fine before I updated to the new version. As I can recall I had version 2.4.?.

If I understand you correctly you are saying I cannot use the Pro builder for my checkout page?

Hi @djinnie,

Yes, you can’t use the builder on Woocommerce reserve pages. It’s the same on the older version of Pro, but I saw a similar setup where it works (few and not mine). But it never works on any of my installations even on older versions of Pro and cornerstone, it’s causes infinite redirect loops. I guess it depends on the setup which I can’t confirm yet, but I don’t recommend editing those reserved pages contained within the builder since it has a varying results.

I’m actually still investigating this issue, but still no luck as there is no internal error but just infinite redirect (older Pro and cornerstone)
