Envira Gallery - Lightbox image (not displaying original size)

Hi,

I am using Envira Gallery to display several images.
The problem is that the lightbox does not display images in their original size.
I have changed to display from original to full width, it always looks the same.
If I change it to a thumbnail (smaller image) it works, but it seems that it never get bigger than those 1024px (i think) wide.

I have read a lot of queries about that issue but non actually provides a solution.

I have read this query: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/envira-gallery-lightbox-not-working-since-update/26727
I followed the documentation and suggestions (clean cache, uninstall plugins, check Supersize, etc)

Can you help?

Thank you

Hello @PanInternational,

Thanks for writing in!

I have logged in and checked your site. All the settings are correct and should work out perfectly. You are not seeing the changes because it turns out that you are using CloudFlare. Please log in to your CloudFlare account and purge your site cache. After making any site changes, you need to clear all your caches first and that includes CloudFlare before you test your site so that you can prevent any issues and the latest changes will be reflected in your site and not the cached version.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.
It took me a while to understand what is Cloudflare, until I notice is a cache plugin, which i am not using.
I have 2 cache plugins, but both of them are deactivated and I have cleaned the cache from Envira Gallery, Pro cache, browser cache and none is solving the issue.

Any other solution?

Hey @PanInternational,

Most images in your gallery are 1280 x 853px. They’re reduced to 1168 x 779px when viewed in the lightbox.

The size is dynamically configured by Envira Gallery to show a good balance of photo display and the lightbox interface. What I mean by that is Envira takes into account the image’s size and aspect ratio in relation to the lightbox.

If your site’s viewed in a 4k monitor, the full size of the image will actually be shown.

In smaller screens, it will be scaled down.

There is no option to modify the display as that is the appropriate layout designed by Envira Gallery’s author.

Thank you for understanding.

Thank you for your reply.

I understand. So, does it mean if I upload bigger images, let’s say 1500px wide, the Envira readjustment will displayed them bigger?

Thank you

Hi @PanInternational,

I will not resize the actual image, but it will resize its rendering size based on the available width of its container. It will stay 1500px but will be displayed 300px if viewed on 300px screen.

Thanks!

Hi,

Thank you.
But I have tried uploading bigger images and see them on a 1920x1080 screen res. and they still show them quite small, comparing with screen size.
I don’t see any place to edit the container width.

Am I missing something?

Hello @PanInternational,

When you view the image inside the lightbox, the image container will calculate the total browser dimensions and deduct a few percentage so that there will be some spaces around the image.

This were the default behaviour of the lightbox and there is no setting to eliminate or reduce this spaces.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.
Yes, it helps understand that Envira Gallery is definitely a not so good (third party) plugin “offered” by Theme X.

I will be using Essential Grid to have same or better results.

Cheers

You are most welcome!
