Envira Gallery Albums Add-On Critical Error

Hello,

I’m experiencing a critical error on my WordPress site after attempting to update PHP from 7.4 to 8.2. The site uses the Envira Gallery - Albums Addon plugin, which seems to be the cause.

Here are the details from the critical error email I received:

WordPress Version: 6.8.1
Active Theme: Pro – Child Theme (version 1.0.0)
Current Plugin: Envira Gallery - Albums Addon (version 1.7.5.3)
PHP Version: 8.2.28

Error Details:
An error of type E_PARSE was caused in line 298 of the file [path to envira-albums-shortcode.php].
Error message: syntax error, unexpected token “{”

I’ve ensured all other plugins, themes, and WordPress core are updated to their most recent available versions.

Any guidance on resolving this compatibility issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for writing in! Is the Addon plugin updated? You may need to update the Envira Gallery as well. The current available version in our Themeco repository is 1.11.0. You can check it here:

Since Envira Gallery Albums is an addon, this could mean that you have an Envira Gallery license. We highly recommend to contact directly the creators of the plugin. They may also be aware of the issue already and has a solution to the issue in place.
