Envira Cache Issue

Hello! Not sure if you have encountered this issue before or if you are aware of what might be causing it, but I have Envira activated on my site at this page. It is an Album set-up, as I needed the functionality so I purchased the extension.

I have set the album thumbnails to be a custom 800x960px. However, for some reason, every couple of days or so the thumbnails will revert back to the original size (which is not what I want because some images are cut off). In order to get the custom dimensions back I need to flush the Envira cache/transients/options, and then hit Save in the album settings again. I have already tried disabling the Envira caches but the problem persists.

Would you know why this might be, or is there something with X that may be causing this weird bug? Thank you for your help as always.

Hello Cynth,

Thanks for writing in!

The problem you are facing with Envira Gallery is peculiar. In my personal experience I haven’t faced similar issue with Envira gallery. First, I would suggest you to copy the website to a staging server and over there activate default WordPress theme to see if problem is still there. If the problem is still there, please try out following:

  1. Test for plugin conflict by deactivating all plugin at once. If issue is resolved then reactivate one plugin at a time to narrow down.
  2. Get in touch with the hosting provider and check to see the specification matches following resource https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/
  3. If above solution does not work then I suggest you to get in touch with Envira Gallery team.

Having said that I would like to see the website setup. When the problem occurs, please share the website login details in secure note.

Thanks.

Hello, thanks for your help. The problem has just occurred again on the page - Envira suggested that I turn off the Mobile Image configuration option as it seemed that the thumbnails were getting the sizes from here, but this didn’t work either - the cut-off sizes come back, and I need to delete the Envira transients before they go back to normal… they did say that it might be a minify issue, but I don’t have any minify plugins installed. Login details are in the Secure Note… would be awesome if you could see what the problem was. Thanks!

Hey Cynth,

There is no feature in X that can modify the image sizes in Envira Gallery. To be sure though, please test the Envira addon in a staging site using the default WordPress theme without any plugins.

Since you’re also using Envira Gallery as a standalone plugin now and the issue is with Envira’s addon, you should continue the conversation with Envira support. They will likely suggest that you test with the default WordPress theme and without third-party plugins as that is a quick way to see where the issue’s coming from.

Thanks.
