Empty links and the European Economic Area (EEA) Agreement

Hello there,

We are attempting to meet the upcoming European Economic Area (EEA) Agreement and are getting errors for one or two of Pro’s elements in this site: This is the site: https://moylescourt.co.uk/

We are using the Web Accessibility Tool to review the site - please see attached image.

One example if the four social media buttons in the left side of the header - the WAVE report shows these as empty links. However, each link does have a URL within it, so do you know what they are referring to?

If you would like to see the report, use this: https://wave.webaim.org/report#/https://moylescourt.co.uk/

Cheers!

Hello again,

Here is another conundrum - we are trying to add ALT text to the header and footer logos to resolve the Suspicious Alternative text alert in the WAVE tool.

I have now added the text into both the media library image editor and on the image element but it still says IMAGE.

This isn’t a problem we have had with the other images, so do you know what is going wrong here?

See the main logo, for example: https://moylescourt.co.uk/

Thanks!

Spencer

Hello Spencer.

There is no Text needed for the social icons. If you want, you can enable the Text in the Button element and add something like:

And as for your logo, make sure to add an ALT text like this:

Hope this helps.

HI @ruenel,

Thanks for getting back. Do you know why the social media icons are being listed as Empty Links? We can clearly see the URL in the HREF.

Cheers :-}

Spencer

Hi Spencer,

I have checked the social media icons in the header and found that the links are showing correctly. And the icon shows for ARIA hidden.

I also tried to find the empty links, but unfortunately didn’t find any of them.

Thanks
